Dr. Rajbhandari is a senior Obstetrician and Gynecologist with over 35 years of experience both in country and overseas. She brings both clinical and public health expertise in the field of Maternal and New born health. One of the first Master trainers in Reproductive Health, Dr. Rajbhandari worked in Paropkar Maternity Hospital for 14 years. After this, she led the Maternity unit in Kathmandu Model Hospital for close to a decade.

She went to Dow medical college, Karachi University Pakistan for MBBS and Post-graduation in Obstetrics and Gynecology. She is a Bill and Melinda Gates fellow and completed her Master’s in Public Health from Johns Hopkins University in 2000. Dr. Rajbhandari has worked extensively in South East Asia, Eastern & Southern Africa and the Pacific Region as technical lead to improve maternal and neonatal health programs and policy in conjunction with national and development stakeholders. She is fluent in multiple languages including Khmer, Urdu, Newari, Nepali and English. 

She introduced Gentle Birth Method in Nepal to encourage Natural Birth.  She specializes and focuses on Counselling for various aspects of Maternal health including Family Panning methods and Menopause. 

 Dr. Rajbhandari has written many articles published in Nepal and International Journals.  She initiated the research for and practice to prevent Postpartum Hemorrhage in the community and in Tertiary Care Centres. Dr. Rajbhandari is actively involved in Telemedicine particularly since the Covid-19 Pandemic, where she voluntarily supports service provides in all remote parts of Nepal. 

Dr. Rajbhandari is married and has one daughter.

While she is away from work, she loves to cook, try out new recipes, learn dancing, practice photography and read books. She rigorously practices walking, yoga and meditation and enjoys hiking and traveling. She was the lead singer for her band in Medical School and continues to enjoy singing. She has a Labrador called Casper and Japanese Spitz, Lucy.
